Thanks to Proposition 57, hundreds of sex offenders could be released into our communities through an early parole program. As strong advocates for public safety and most importantly as mothers to our respective families, the prospect of having sexual predators leaving prison early is, to say the least, stomach churning. LAME article from LAME orange county…. Guess what these “sex offenders that may get released early….” They ARE getting release SOONER OR LATER ! Who cares… what is a difference going to make if they are released TODAY or 6 months from now ? NONE AT ALL…. is the RISK of them offending going to go UP if they are releases say 6 mos early ? NO the rate of recidivism is so low already that a early release of a FEW 290’s what is the recidivism rate going to go up ? .000001 %? WHO CARES, more DRAMA from a LAME Orange county !

It’s bad enough to not allow for early release or granting of parole, but to attempt to label all sex offenses requiring 290 registration or any other act that Bates finds “disturbing” as violent I find especially troubling and misleading.
